While it might not be worth your effort to clip coupons for a few cents off of this or that, most people will take notice of a quick, easy way to receive a $30 discount off of anything they can buy at Amazon. That’s what Amazon and American Express are currently offering, and, if eligible, it’s pretty easy to take advantage of this targeted offer.

How to get your $30 discount

This Amazon promotion requires that you link your eligible American Express Membership Rewards card to you Amazon account, which lets you pay for purchases with your Membership Rewards points. Next, you’ll need to activate this offer by going to this link. Finally, you need to purchase at least $60 of eligible items, and pay for it, in part, with American Express Membership Rewards points. You’ll only get one cent in value for each point redeemed, which isn’t as great as you might get when you transfer your points to airline miles and book business and first class award flights. But fortunately, you only need to redeem a single point to receive a discount of up to $30 on your purchase of $60 or more.

Which American Express cards are eligible?

You can use any American Express account that offers points in its Membership Rewards program. Here are some of the best cards that qualify:

The Blue Business℠ Plus Credit Card from American Express. This small business card offers you 2x points on all purchases, up to $50,000 a year, and 1x per point thereafter. It also features 15 months of 0% APR financing on both new purchases and balance transfers (then a variable rate, currently 13.49%, 17.49%, or 21.49%). There’s no annual fee for this card, but it does have a 2.7% foreign transaction fee.

American Express® Gold Card.  This card offers new applicants 35,000 bonus points after spending $2,000 on eligible purchases within three months of account opening. You also get 4x points at U.S. supermarkets on up to $25,000 in annual spending (then 1x points thereafter), and unlimited 4x points at U.S. restaurants. Finally, you receive 3x points on US flights and one point per dollar spent elsewhere. Other benefits include an annual airline fee credit of up to $100, and a monthly credit of up to $10 at select restaurants. There’s a $250 annual fee for this card.

The Platinum Card® from American Express. This card offers 5x Membership Rewards points on all flights booked directly with the airlines or through American Express travel, and 5X points on prepaid hotels booked on amextravel.com. Other benefits include Gold elite status with Hilton and Marriott hotels, and access to Priority Pass, Delta SkyClub and American Express Centurion airport lounges. There is also an annual airline fee credit of up to $200, an annual Uber credit of up to $200, and an annual credit up to $100 towards Saks Fifth Avenue purchases (requires enrollment). There’s a $550 annual fee for this card.
