The airline everyone loves to hate is expanding once again. Spirit Airlines will introduce new nonstop service between Nashville (BNA) and 6 cities across the U.S. this fall. Along with adding this brand new city, Spirit is also adding 2 new flights from Indianapolis (IND) to Florida. Intro fares start from $123 roundtrip.

Spirit Adds New Flights to/from Nashville and Indianapolis

New nonstop service from Nashville will begin on October 10, 2019, to Ft. Lauderdale (FLL), Orlando (MCO), Baltimore (BWI), New Orleans (MSY), and Las Vegas (LAS). New service between Nashville and Tampa (TPA) begins November 5, 2019.

Nashville is the 7th new city Spirit has added to its route map this year. Earlier in 2019, Spirit launched service to/from Austin (AUS), Indianapolis (IND), and Raleigh (RDU), and later this month Spirit will launch service in three more new cities, Burbank (BUR), Charlotte (CLT),  and Sacramento (SMF).

Spirit is filling its planes despite all of the negative reviews. And it has vastly improved its on-time performance ever since new CEO Ted Christie took over on New Year's Day 2019.

In a press release, Christie stated,

"Nashville is one of the fastest growing cities in the country and has a lot to offer. From the best live entertainment and family-friendly attractions to a robust food and craft beer scene, there is something for everyone. We’re equally excited to bring our new Nashville-area Guests to great destinations throughout the U.S., Latin America, and the Caribbean."

The two new nonstop flights from Indianapolis to both Tampa and Ft. Myers (RSW) begin November 14, 2019.

All of these new routes will have daily service, which is an advantage over other ultra-low-cost carriers in these markets that only fly a few times per week. Spirit will compete directly with JetBlue, Frontier, Southwest, and Sun Country. Look for other airlines to lower fares in response to this announcement and sign up for fare alerts to find out about promo code sales and when prices drop.
